From youth to adulthood, CN Jenkins offers a wide range of ministries, groups and committees to provide opportunities for everyone to share their unique gifts and get involved in the body of Christ. The AV Ministry has a passion for using technology as a means of recording and sharing God’s Word. Responsibilities of the AV Team include setting up lighting, operating audio equipment, managing YouTube and operating robotic cameras. The Budget and Finance Committee is responsible for creating the budget for the Church on an annual basis and ensuring that the right professionals are engaged to manage our investments and ensure that the needs of the Church are incorporated into the investment plan. Please email committee co-chairs Shivonia Nyame at or Nicole Benford at for more information.

The CNJ Children’s Ministry exists to help students from Pre-K to 5th grade to: Love God, love themselves and love others through worship, fellowship and various programs. The CNJ Youth Ministry exists to help students from grades 6 to 12 to: Love God, love themselves and love others through worship, fellowship, and various programs. We aim to see youth grow closer to God and with each other through Bible-based lessons, social activities, and retreats. We also use the Bible to discuss world issues such as mental health, racism, bullying, self-love and friendships, among other topics. The CNJ Dance Ministry uses movement and music as an expression of praise and worship to God. It is an opportunity for anyone who would like to physically move (in whatever ways they are able) as an outward showing of love, thanks, and praise to God. Click here for more details. 

The Fellowship Ministry gathers weekly at the church on Tuesday mornings and travels throughout areas around the 28206 and 28216 zip codes to distribute bagged lunches, clothing, etc. to neighbors in need. The Fine Arts Ministry is currently under the direction of Ms. Ruth Sloane, Program Director. The purpose of the Fine Arts Ministry is to interpret Psalm 150, and “Praise Ye the Lord with strings, cymbals, trumpets, and dance” through the arts. For more information, please email Lynn Hudson at

Freedom School is a six-week literacy-based program in partnership with the Children’s Defense Fund. The purpose of Freedom Schools is to address with academic, social, emotional, and other special needs of scholars from Title 1 Schools with the goal of improving their reading scores and eliminating summer learning loss.

Greeters are the warm, smiling faces that greet each person who comes through our church doors at each service. Greeters help guide the church family and our visitors to designated seats, restrooms, and other locations around the church. 

The Hospitality Committee assists members of the church staff and ministries with congregational functions requiring use of the CN Jenkins kitchen and food preparation equipment. The Committee also provides meals after funerals of CN Jenkins members in good standing, upon the family’s request, per Church guidelines.

This ministry is committed to creating a support system for couples that will encourage them to pursue and achieve an intimate marriage with Jesus Christ as the focus and foundation. Components include Bible study, fellowship and community outreach initiatives

The CNJ Music Ministry is a place to develop talent given by God to return it to God and others as a gift of service with excellence. Its goal is to support the sermon by leading the congregation through song and worship.

Pink Angels is a ministry consisting of breast cancer survivors and supporters who offer support, encouragement and prayers for and with those experiencing breast cancer. Pink Angels meet occasionally throughout the year to plan for fundraisers and breast cancer awareness initiatives.

The CNJ Prayer Ministry’s goal is to equip, enable, and encourage church members to pray continually and effectively while making prayer a part of everything they do. The Prayer Ministry coordinates church-wide prayer events, program of remembrance and manages the Prayer Room. 

Presbyterian Men works to find various mission projects within the church and beyond the walls of the church to enhance the lives of others. Meetings and organized projects allow our men a chance to gather as one to pray, plan and execute the set agendas that are established throughout the calendar year.

Presbyterian Women (PW) offers women in the church meaningful ways to live out their faith in the midst of a caring community of women. Presbyterian Women is a caring organization that builds community, works for justice and peace, and supports the mission of the church.

AA and NA are nonprofit societies of men and women for whom drugs and/or alcohol have become a major problem. These organizations are not affiliated with CNJ. The church provides a safe place to facilitate meetings.

The Scholarship and Graduation Ministry provides financial assistance to students who are continuing their education through a scholarship program. The goal is to help deserving individuals achieve their career goals, which has added the benefit of bettering the community at large. 

Stephen Ministry is a lay caregiving ministry that supplements pastoral care within a congregation. Stephen Ministers share a passion for bringing Christ’s love and care during difficult times of need, including life experiences such as grief, divorce, periods of loneliness, job loss, or illness.

The role of CNJ Ushers is to provide a welcoming atmosphere for worshipers as they enter the sanctuary not only for worship service(s), but also for special events of the church. Those interested in joining the Usher Board should have the ability to be warm and cordial as they greet and seat congregants entering the church, making all feel comfortable and welcome.

The Van Ministry is in charge of the maintenance of the church van to include upkeep, making sure gas is in the van and other routine tasks. Drivers are needed. Must be 21 years or older with a valid drivers license, insurance and the ability to provide service for our congregation when needed.

The Worship Committee prepares the church environment for engaging in prayer, praise and worship service. This includes responsibilities such as decorating for holidays and seasonal occasions and organizing Advent Sundays.
